Murillo Gomes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benigno Torne, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cléber Azevedo got free with Johans Ortubia in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Gilmar de Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilmar de Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johans Ortubia having to interfere. A collision led to Monitor Huáscar getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Bidari Ansola hit a great ball. The supporters of ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ booed when Monitor Huáscar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Medardo Pombo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benigno Torne was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oxel Viñales got free with Murillo Gomes in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pagomari Portilla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Murillo Gomes made a huge save. Johans Ortubia came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ's Cléber Azevedo. But to his dismay, Cléber Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléber Azevedo in the 87th minute of play forced Monitor Huáscar's goalkeeper Johans Ortubia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johans Ortubia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber Azevedo in the 90th minute of play. Murillo Gomes made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Ovidio Varez sent off a good shot on target. Neither ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ or Monitor Huáscar succeeded in finding a winner during the second half. That meant the players faced another 30 minutes of extra-time.
After resting during the break, the players from both teams went out on the field looking very concentrated. It was now first half of the overtime. Cléber Azevedo made the kick off and play began. 101 minutes into the game, ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ's Cléber Azevedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Johans Ortubia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Monitor Huáscar had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
