Nico de Mendonça started the match with the kick off. A collision led to MINEIROS getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Maicon Quintal hit a great ball. Walmir Leal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nico de Mendonça in the 11th minute. 12 minutes into the game, Jailson Paraibano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Primatas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MINEIROS the free kick. Serginho Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilmar Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nico de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir Leal having to interfere. 19 minutes into the game, Nilson de Souza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MINEIROS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Primatas FC the free kick. The supporters of Primatas FC booed when MINEIROS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. The attack was good, but when Silvério Pires in the 20th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After 23 minutes of play, Primatas FC's Silvério Pires made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Serginho Taffarel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Diamantino Vale lost his temper 27 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Diamantino Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Pinto Gigante hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nico de Mendonça in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walmir Leal saved Primatas FC from getting behind. Maicon Quintal scored 1-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Walmir Leal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silvério Pires made a kick off. MINEIROS's Serginho Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save MINEIROS from getting a goal against them. In the 57th match minute, MINEIROS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maicon Quintal to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Primatas FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Jailson Paraibano hit a great ball. Primatas FC's Ismael Mazza was substituted for Pinto Gigante. In the 62nd minute, Jailson Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 63 played minutes, MINEIROS's Maicon Quintal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Walmir Leal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MINEIROS reached it. A collision led to Primatas FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Durval Campidelis hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, MINEIROS's Nando Leão got a free kick in the 64th minute. Serginho Taffarel was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Baltazar Nascimento capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Baltazar Nascimento really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. MINEIROS made a substitution. Luiz Fábio Schmidt replaced Maicon Quintal. In the 72nd minute, Gilmar Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Baltazar Nascimento kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Serginho Taffarel. That made the score 1-3 in the 74 minute of play. MINEIROS's Serginho Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save MINEIROS from getting a goal against them. After 84 played minutes Primatas FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Cabral. Gilmar Cabral hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the game, Baltazar Nascimento recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Serginho Taffarel. Baltazar Nascimento showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Serginho Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvério Pires in the 96th minute of play.
