Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Keith Arden to make the kick off. When Clark Lindsey came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the El Canalla de Chicago fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clark Lindsey couldn't finish the play. El Canalla de Chicago made a substitution. Tommie Tipton replaced Kent Carney. El Canalla de Chicago's Scott Souza was substituted for Bernie Rosales. Keith Arden charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 95th match minute, El Canalla de Chicago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cobi Babcock to maneuver through the defense.
