It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jaime Cabral kicked off to start the match. Loreto Turienzo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mo Chen Yang having to make a save. Mo Chen Yang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loreto Turienzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 6 minutes into the match, Grêmio Santo André's goal looked a bit too open when Loreto Turienzo came free, but Mo Chen Yang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute, one of Grêmio Santo André:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Grêmio Santo André. 9 minutes into the match, Loreto Turienzo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mo Chen Yang. Grêmio Santo André's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Loreto Turienzo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Medero Gadea came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the U21 Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Medero Gadea couldn't finish the play. The U21 Uruguay fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when U21 Uruguay's Loreto Turienzo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Mo Chen Yang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateo Antoni in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Medero Gadea in the 23rd minute of play forced Grêmio Santo André's goalkeeper Mo Chen Yang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loreto Turienzo in the 24th minute of play forced Grêmio Santo André's goalkeeper Mo Chen Yang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Grêmio Santo André defense, Loreto Turienzo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mo Chen Yang. The Grêmio Santo André fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mo Chen Yang should have stopped the shot. Bruno Nascimento made in the 38th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Chiquinho Valle however managed to control. With a little luck, U21 Uruguay's Pelayo Villoldo got control of the ball when Bernie Strauss tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 43rd minute Medero Gadea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mo Chen Yang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Loreto Turienzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Mo Chen Yang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Grêmio Santo André players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Uruguay were winning 0-3.

Mo Chen Yang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loreto Turienzo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Loreto Turienzo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mo Chen Yang read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Grêmio Santo André's Mo Chen Yang proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Grêmio Santo André from getting a goal against them. If Loreto Turienzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 63 minutes into the match, Grêmio Santo André's goal looked a bit too open when Loreto Turienzo came free, but Mo Chen Yang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th match minute, Grêmio Santo André was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adalberto de Sousa to maneuver through the defense. U21 Uruguay made a substitution. Garoa Ojesto replaced Aztore Ferreras. U21 Uruguay's Ederono Ojero was substituted for Loreto Turienzo. U21 Uruguay's Narciso Lanza was substituted for Gombal Sierra. In the 66th minute, Adalberto de Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute Ederono Ojero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mo Chen Yang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ederono Ojero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mo Chen Yang made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Medero Gadea sent off a good shot on target. When U21 Uruguay's Ederono Ojero in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grêmio Santo André's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mai Yong Zhi in the 80th minute of play forced U21 Uruguay's goalkeeper Pelayo Villoldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mo Chen Yang came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Uruguay's Ederono Ojero. But to his dismay, Ederono Ojero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After a rather tough play, U21 Uruguay's Antonio Salmanton got a free kick in the 89th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Uruguay's Ederono Ojero slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mo Chen Yang. That made the score 0-5 after 91 minutes of play. U21 Uruguay's Brian Ocampo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Bruno Nascimento, made in the 94th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Grêmio Santo André defense, Ederono Ojero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mo Chen Yang. The Grêmio Santo André fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mo Chen Yang should have stopped the shot. The Grêmio Santo André fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. U21 Uruguay were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
