If Jose Heredia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A throw-in in the 13th minute of the game was made by Vitaliy Vorobey with Ladislao Cordarius as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 16 minutes of play, Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 29th minute Nick Heesen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fumo Canuto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Downchester City's Fumo Canuto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nick Heesen in the 32nd minute of play. In the 38th minute, Gitano Rubiero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ágætis Byrjun fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 41st minute, Ditlev Delmont got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Heredia in the 43rd minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vitaliy Vorobey hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
