Willem-Jan Hollanders was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Willem-Jan Hollanders showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnathan Bowden in the 17th minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Les Bistouquettes Bleues fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! Christof Deroek was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Johnathan Bowden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Les Bistouquettes Bleues's Willem-Jan Hollanders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnathan Bowden in the 25th minute of play. Willem-Jan Hollanders didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Johnathan Bowden went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 29 minutes into the match, Selebi-Phikwe's Johnathan Bowden sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Willem-Jan Hollanders narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 30thth minute of the game Johnathan Bowden who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Les Bistouquettes Bleues's Willem-Jan Hollanders was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Selebi-Phikwe were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Les Bistouquettes Bleues's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Johnathan Bowden took the corner. Selebi-Phikwe's Victor Lundqvist was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Willem-Jan Hollanders in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Bryan Creemers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Christof Deroek made a huge save. Christof Deroek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Vranken in the 37th minute of play. After 40 played minutes Les Bistouquettes Bleues got a freekick which was hit by Giovanni Inglebert. After some careless play in the Les Bistouquettes Bleues defense, Johnathan Bowden kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Willem-Jan Hollanders. The Les Bistouquettes Bleues fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Willem-Jan Hollanders should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Johnathan Bowden stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Vranken in the 59th minute of play forced Selebi-Phikwe's goalkeeper Christof Deroek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnathan Bowden could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Willem-Jan Hollanders made a huge save.
