In the 10th minute De krokante kroketjes were awarded a corner. 邵城邦 went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Osvaldo Gaufred managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After some careless play in the VC zoetwater defense, Stasio Burdzel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gong Ying Zheng. The VC zoetwater fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gong Ying Zheng should have stopped the shot. Stasio Burdzel struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Gong Ying Zheng didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De krokante kroketjes. Håkan Šuker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Mickael De Koster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Håkan Šuker left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The VC zoetwater fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Håkan Šuker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mickael De Koster read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Håkan Šuker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Mickael De Koster made a huge save. The supporters of De krokante kroketjes booed when VC zoetwater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dariusz Zembrzuski didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to VC zoetwater getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Tom Van der Veeken hit a great ball. In the 37thth minute 邵城邦 easily got through VC zoetwater's defense and fired away a shot, but Gong Ying Zheng leaped left and performed a fabulous save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stasio Burdzel in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gong Ying Zheng saved VC zoetwater from getting behind. In the 45th minute Stasio Burdzel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gong Ying Zheng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Håkan Šuker to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Håkan Šuker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mickael De Koster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mickael De Koster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gusztáv Bács in the 54th minute of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind De krokante kroketjes's goalkeeper Mickael De Koster, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Håkan Šuker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mickael De Koster read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, De krokante kroketjes's goal looked a bit too open when Håkan Šuker came free, but Mickael De Koster reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stasio Burdzel got free with Gong Ying Zheng in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner ended in 邵城邦 almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but VC zoetwater's Gong Ying Zheng did a great save. Gong Ying Zheng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stasio Burdzel, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 82nd minute, Osvaldo Gaufred hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. De krokante kroketjes made a substitution. Matty Wintermans replaced 邵城邦. A collision led to De krokante kroketjes getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Osvaldo Gaufred hit a great ball. Stasio Burdzel kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Mickael De Koster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Håkan Šuker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the match, De krokante kroketjes's Stasio Burdzel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gong Ying Zheng narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

Chants of De krokante kroketjes echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as VC zoetwater had held the ball for most of the match.
