After a rather tough play, Royal PSG's Théophile Boutillier got a free kick in the 10th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goalkeeper Dušan Ančic had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edoardo Filippini. After 15 minutes of play, Club Atlético de Newell's Sebastian Percival made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tristan Bétourne was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edoardo Filippini scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dušan Ančic, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. William Dunning made in the 21st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Royal PSG's Ferhat Özsan. If Ferhat Özsan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dušan Ančic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edoardo Filippini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edoardo Filippini might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dušan Ančic. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edoardo Filippini ran back to his position shaking his head. Club Atlético de Newell's Dušan Ančic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edoardo Filippini in the 25th minute of play. Royal PSG's Tristan Bétourne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pastor Eufemio in the 26th minute of play. If Edoardo Filippini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 30th minute Spike Foley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tristan Bétourne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético de Newell's goalkeeper Dušan Ančic, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edoardo Filippini got free with Dušan Ančic in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tristan Bétourne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Percival, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edoardo Filippini in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dušan Ančic prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Samuel Izard fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Royal PSG's protests and gave Samuel Izard a yellow card for diving instead. After 76 played minutes Royal PSG got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Izard. 78 minutes into the match, Edoardo Filippini notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Club Atlético de Newell's Dušan Ančic. Dušan Ančic was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. William Dunning made in the 82nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Sebastian Percival immediately put the ball in play. Edoardo Filippini might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dušan Ančic. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edoardo Filippini in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dušan Ančic saved Club Atlético de Newell from getting behind. In the 95th play minute Cliff Kershaw came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tristan Bétourne. 4-2.

The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Royal PSG were victorious despite being under pressure from Club Atlético de Newell for much of the match.
