Mänsur Rzayev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Gelu Chirilă made the kick off in the second half. Mänsur Rzayev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gelu Chirilă in the 56th minute of the match. Mänsur Rzayev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudolfo Cardoso in the 58th minute of play. Gelu Chirilă might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mänsur Rzayev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rudolfo Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel.
