Férid Khalifa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Leão in the 9th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the game, Botafogo MZRJ's Matías Brasil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Percival Prestes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Matías Brasil took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Percival Prestes to make any attempt to save it. Matías Brasil might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Percival Prestes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Matías Brasil ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matías Brasil in the 16th minute of play forced REAL VASCO RIO's goalkeeper Percival Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Pedro Simão hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute, Ricardo Cosme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Percival Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josué Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Percival Prestes came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Botafogo MZRJ's Murillo Loureiro. But to his dismay, Murillo Loureiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Matías Brasil was the one to do the kick off. REAL VASCO RIO's Percival Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josué Matos in the 52nd minute of play. Percival Prestes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matías Brasil went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. José Pedro Simão got his second yellow card in the match during the 57th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, REAL VASCO RIO's José Pedro Simão got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute, Wágner Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Botafogo MZRJ's goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Leão came free, but Férid Khalifa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 66 minutes, Wágner Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Botafogo MZRJ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wágner Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 72 minutes, Alfredo Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Horácio Damião could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Férid Khalifa made a huge save. REAL VASCO RIO's Percival Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías Brasil in the 75th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Botafogo MZRJ's Murillo Loureiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Percival Prestes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Férid Khalifa made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Alfredo Fernandes sent off a good shot on target. 84 minutes into the match, REAL VASCO RIO's goal looked a bit too open when Matías Brasil came free, but Percival Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 85 played minutes Botafogo MZRJ got a freekick which was hit by Murillo Loureiro. REAL VASCO RIO's Alfredo Fernandes was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 86th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Matías Brasil hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute Matías Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percival Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Botafogo MZRJ were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of REAL VASCO RIO for a fine match.
