In the 4th minute Gitano Iniesta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Burroughs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 4 minutes into the game, UE Cornella's Gitano Iniesta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Javier Burroughs made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 8 minutes, Alvito Font managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UE Cornella's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvito Font was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Khachatryan booed when UE Cornella was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xian Roman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Gitano Iniesta made a precise shot to the right of Javier Burroughs. Khachatryan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After 36 played minutes Khachatryan got a freekick which was hit by Daron Thorne. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Keith Arden put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Fresco Baltanas. The supporters of UE Cornella booed when Khachatryan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. A.J. Wolfe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Javier Burroughs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gitano Iniesta in the 46th minute of play. The Khachatryan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. UE Cornella were winning 1-3.

Fresco Baltanas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lenny MacDowell in the 55th minute of the match. In the 55th minute, Lenny MacDowell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fresco Baltanas was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. In the 60th minute, Alvito Font hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Gitano Iniesta kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Javier Burroughs. That made the score 2-4 in the 62 minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Herberto Orbiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Javier Burroughs made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Gitano Iniesta sent off a good shot on target. In the 78th minute, Alvito Font hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Toni Medina hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Peter Gamble hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. A collision led to Khachatryan getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Keith Arden hit a great ball. The referee's whistle sounded for the end of the second half. The match was tied at 4-4. None of the players looked happy at the prospect of extra-time.

After resting during the break, the players from both teams went out on the field looking very concentrated. It was now first half of the overtime. Keith Arden made the kick off and play began. After 98 played minutes UE Cornella got a freekick which was hit by Xian Roman. Javier Burroughs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urtsua Serra, who was totally free with the ball in the 105th minute. In the 107th minute, Xian Roman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lenny MacDowell got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 5-4 in the right cross in the 110th match minute before Fresco Baltanas had time to react. For all the effort they put into the match, the UE Cornella players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Khachatryan.
