Enzo Shantala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdomiro Duarte in the 11th minute of play. Várzea F.C.'s Valdomiro Duarte managed to work through Howling Dawn U18's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Valdomiro Duarte dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Guaberto Gilesindo hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Miguel Marques hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After 20 minutes, Benjamim de Moraes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Várzea F.C. and the Howling Dawn U18 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th match minute, Várzea F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamim de Moraes to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lun Luna in the 24th minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Romeu Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romeu Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Modesto Pietro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Howling Dawn U18's Romeu Batista threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lun Luna, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Romeu Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lun Luna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Howling Dawn U18 booed when Várzea F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Lun Luna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romeu Batista. Várzea F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lun Luna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 46 minutes into the match, Várzea F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Lun Luna came free, but Romeu Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enzo Shantala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Astor Barbosa to make the kick off. Várzea F.C.'s Romeu Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Modesto Pietro in the 56th minute of play. Romeu Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Modesto Pietro in the 60th minute of the match. In the 60thth minute of the game Astor Barbosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Várzea F.C.'s Romeu Batista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bruninho Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After 67 played minutes Várzea F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Benjamim de Moraes. Romeu Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lun Luna, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Modesto Pietro in the 74th minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Romeu Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Howling Dawn U18 getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Guaberto Gilesindo hit a great ball. Howling Dawn U18's Mars Marte was substituted for Tobias Sol. In the 78th minute Valdomiro Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Shantala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Modesto Pietro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romeu Batista was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Romeu Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baldomiro Jerrald, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After some careless play in the Várzea F.C. defense, Baldomiro Jerrald kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Romeu Batista. The Várzea F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romeu Batista should have stopped the shot.

Howling Dawn U18's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
