Shippensburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tolga Yağızkurt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ted Colby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Sarper Tokur managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Shippensburg's Ted Colby fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 9th minute, one of Shippensburg:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Shippensburg. In the 10th minute there was a penalty for qazera. Ali Atıf Acarbey stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dale Hollis. 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Tolga Yağızkurt managed to get in a good position for a shot. qazera's supporters rose to their feet, but Tolga Yağızkurt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dale Hollis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 16 minutes into the game, Tolga Yağızkurt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Dale Hollis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dale Hollis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Behzat Tuncel, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 28 played minutes qazera got a freekick which was hit by Ali Atıf Acarbey. Sarper Tokur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Dent in the 30th minute of play. Brian Dent struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Sarper Tokur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shippensburg. Behzat Tuncel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Hollis having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Todd Link hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tolga Yağızkurt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tolga Yağızkurt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dale Hollis having to make a save. qazera's Sarper Tokur proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save qazera from getting a goal against them. If Ted Colby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Shippensburg's attack was well implemented in the 48th minute, but when Brian Dent was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a little luck, Shippensburg's Dale Hollis got control of the ball when Tolga Yağızkurt tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 73 minutes, Lefter Arıcan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. qazera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lefter Arıcan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ted Colby came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Shippensburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ted Colby couldn't finish the play. In the 95th minute Todd Link shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sarper Tokur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
