Timoteo Michael did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Dan Wennerqvist 35 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adrián Espadas in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomás Bonifaco saved Candelaria FC from getting behind. Dan Wennerqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bart Pellen in the 42nd minute. 48 minutes into the match, Soroca F.C.'s Adrián Espadas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomás Bonifaco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnaldo Marquez to make the kick off. Soroca F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Adrián Espadas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Bonifaco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Soroca F.C.'s Iordanis Karatzaferis was substituted for Müslüm Baba. Candelaria FC's Okanalp Özdil was substituted for Sven-Olof Sjöberg. Soroca F.C.'s Romulo Thomas was substituted for Gustavo Tartalo. Soroca F.C. made a substitution. In the 91st minute Răzvan Necula shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Bonifaco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's goalkeeper Tomás Bonifaco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Răzvan Necula.
