The referee ignored Buzarda FC's protests and gave Bonifacio Lopez a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Buzarda FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute, Villu Üleoja ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vlad Covrig was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 14th minute, Calistrat Şerbănescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damian Cârlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natalio Tono having to interfere. Natalio Tono made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Cârlan in the 29th minute of play. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Damian Cârlan got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Buzarda FC's Natalio Tono played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Cârlan in the 35th minute of play. Natalio Tono stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Damian Cârlan's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. A collision led to PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Damian Cârlan hit a great ball. After 40 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Olimpiu Fecioru. 41 minutes into the game, Tiberiu Rotariu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buzarda FC the free kick. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 43rd minute, when Buzarda FC's Marcelo Rio after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Vlad Covrig in PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Villu Üleoja scored 2-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vlad Covrig, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Damian Cârlan came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damian Cârlan couldn't finish the play. Vlad Covrig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Villu Üleoja in the 63rd minute of the match. Damian Cârlan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Natalio Tono made a huge save. After 76 minutes, Sebastian Istodor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca and the Buzarda FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Buzarda FC booed when PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Istodor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mario Valery's late challenge caught a PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mario Valery helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th match minute, Buzarda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Valery to maneuver through the defense. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Vlad Covrig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Villu Üleoja in the 80th minute of play. Vlad Covrig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Villu Üleoja in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Villu Üleoja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 86 played minutes Buzarda FC got a freekick which was hit by Villu Üleoja. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damian Cârlan got free with Natalio Tono in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cătălin Cosâmbescu hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Buzarda FC's Natalio Tono proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Buzarda FC from getting a goal against them. Vlad Covrig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Villu Üleoja, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
