Horácio Teixeira came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ronnys Lärjungar's Sverker Björk. But to his dismay, Sverker Björk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 47th minute Donalton Meneses shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvin Bruhn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Donalton Meneses made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Ronnys Lärjungar's Tomas Broberg got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With a little luck, Ronnys Lärjungar's Edvin Bruhn got control of the ball when Donalton Meneses tried to sneak it across the goal line. Donalton Meneses could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Edvin Bruhn made a huge save. Horácio Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kjell-Arne Skott, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Nilmar Esteves's late challenge caught a Ronnys Lärjungar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
