In the 14th match minute, Cachiyuyo EAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natalio Laurin to maneuver through the defense. When Augusto Aresti fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cachiyuyo EAS's protests and gave Augusto Aresti a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cachiyuyo EAS getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Despite being the better team, Inter de Chillán failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
