Elias Damasceno's late challenge caught a Club El Progreso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elias Damasceno helped the player get up and apologised. João Vítor Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pascual Gomesano in the 25th minute of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Pascual Gomesano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club El Progreso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pascual Gomesano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Higinio Fernanco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseu Alagoano went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Guedes in the 41st minute of play forced Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Higinio Fernanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agostinho Guedes might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Higinio Fernanco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agostinho Guedes ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Santi Rivero during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Santi Rivero kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Agostinho Guedes to strike the kick off in the second half. Club El Progreso's Higinio Fernanco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias Damasceno in the 50th minute of play. In the 53rd match minute, 卡納里尼奧 FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Célio Albuquerque to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Apolo Ramos got free with João Vítor Guimarães in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th match minute, Club El Progreso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cayetano Brion to maneuver through the defense. 卡納里尼奧 FC's Sidnei Dionísio got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ignacio Ebere fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club El Progreso's protests and gave Ignacio Ebere a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute, Ignacio Ebere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 70 played minutes 卡納里尼奧 FC got a freekick which was hit by Cléberson Santana. 卡納里尼奧 FC's Armandinho Pombal was substituted for Régis Vides. Cléberson Santana kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. A collision led to Club El Progreso getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Santi Rivero hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Damasceno in the 76th minute of play forced Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Higinio Fernanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Higinio Fernanco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elias Damasceno, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After 91 minutes of play, 卡納里尼奧 FC's Eliseu Alagoano made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Higinio Fernanco was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 95th minute Eliseu Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Fernanco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Club El Progreso players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for 卡納里尼奧 FC.
