Green Squad FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club El Progreso the free kick. After 23 played minutes Green Squad FC got a freekick which was hit by Oséias de Alcântara. Jorge Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Juan Vergaray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lúcio da Cunha scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juan Vergaray, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Pascual Gomesano came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Club El Progreso fans jumped to their feet. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ignacio Ebere stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Green Squad FC's Jorge Gaspar got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in Green Squad FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Club El Progreso a penalty, 65 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pascual Gomesano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Green Squad FC's Hernani Pirani. 1-2. Club El Progreso's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
