The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as よα αςα∂ємια נυиισяѕ's Segundo Cordaryal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bine Šercelj. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. With an all-out effort, よα αςα∂ємια נυиισяѕ's Bine Šercelj threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bebeto Romário, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A hard shot 19 in the game by Tomás Iyan from a close distance when the talented Bine Šercelj managed to make a qualified save. FC Koper's players were relieved. After 20 minutes FC Koper's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cipriano Miliano who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Cipriano Miliano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bine Šercelj quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience was convinced that Luka Saje's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rosendo Tebaldo was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Rosendo Tebaldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mitar Drobnič, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robustiano Bide lost his temper 28 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 29th minute there was a penalty for FC Koper. Marino Gregorič stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rosendo Tebaldo. 1-1. よα αςα∂ємια נυиισяѕ's Segundo Cordaryal got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Cipriano Miliano put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bine Šercelj. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eduardo Christobal during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Diego Milito sped through FC Koper's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bine Šercelj. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match.
