But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Checa couldn't finish the play. 8 minutes into the game, Sportivo Luan Toro's Muhammad Ali nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bine Šercelj made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of FC Koper booed when Sportivo Luan Toro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Muhammad Ali didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Claudio Brkić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muhammad Ali took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bine Šercelj. Bine Šercelj dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Muhammad Ali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 35 minutes of play, Sportivo Luan Toro's Muhammad Ali made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bine Šercelj was left in no man's land by his defense there! Muhammad Ali took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bine Šercelj. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

51 minutes into the match, Muhammad Ali had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bine Šercelj. FC Koper's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Muhammad Ali was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Muhammad Ali took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Bine Šercelj to make any attempt to save it. 60 minutes into the game, one of FC Koper:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a defensive mix-up in Sportivo Luan Toro's zone, Mitar Drobnič stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Mingo came out of the goal and Mitar Drobnič tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, FC Koper's Bine Šercelj got control of the ball when Muhammad Ali tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bine Šercelj made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Muhammad Ali sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Muhammad Ali in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bine Šercelj prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 93 played minutes Sportivo Luan Toro got a freekick which was hit by Eleuterio Arlo. Sportivo Luan Toro were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over FC Koper's much stronger midfield.
