The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Charlie Hancock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Los Hornos's Silas de Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ross Strong in the 6th minute of play. Dário Prada might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Inocencio Veronica. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dário Prada ran back to his position shaking his head. Silas de Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo-Sebastian Palacio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silas de Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ross Strong in the 16th minute of play. Silas de Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camillo Daniele, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dário Prada in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Inocencio Veronica saved Rafaela FC from getting behind. Silas de Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo-Sebastian Palacio in the 23rd minute of the match. Silas de Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico Veit in the 25th minute of play. When Los Hornos's Dário Prada in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rafaela FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Los Hornos's Marcu Şuteu got a free kick in the 31st minute. Octavio Gonzo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silas de Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Inocencio Veronica made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário Prada in the 35th minute of play. Los Hornos were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Rafaela FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Justino Amato took the corner. After taking down the ball on Los Hornos's corner Justino Amato fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Inocencio Veronica quite easily take care of the ball. Emiliano Furia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Silas de Andrade made a huge save. Silas de Andrade was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emiliano Furia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 40 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dário Prada to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Dário Prada notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Rafaela FC's Inocencio Veronica. Inocencio Veronica was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dário Prada blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Inocencio Veronica having to make a save. Rafaela FC's Inocencio Veronica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Prada in the 56th minute of play. Inocencio Veronica didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dário Prada went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The Rafaela FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Inocencio Veronica should have stopped the shot. Rafaela FC's Ubaldo Lluis was substituted for Basilio Guillerme. After 80 minutes of play, Los Hornos's Dário Prada made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Inocencio Veronica was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rafaela FC's Inocencio Veronica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Prada in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dário Prada in the 84th minute of play forced Rafaela FC's goalkeeper Inocencio Veronica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, Dário Prada fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dário Prada in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Inocencio Veronica saved Rafaela FC from getting behind.

The Rafaela FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Los Hornos's performance. The match ended with a win for Los Hornos.
