In the 9thth minute of the game Beto Breckenfeld who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Beto Breckenfeld was slow to take the kick. During this time Jurupeba FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Martin Minchev got away a dangerous shot. Despite this August Hoffmanns quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mesut Özil hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the game, Martin Minchev cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. August Hoffmanns was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fabrício Falcão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximilian Henning in the 17th minute of the match. When Reinaldo Schmidt fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jurupeba FC's protests and gave Reinaldo Schmidt a yellow card for diving instead. 20 minutes into the game, one of Jurupeba FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 24th match minute, Jurupeba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yahya Al Bahar to maneuver through the defense. Fabrício Falcão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beto Breckenfeld couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns got control of the ball when Beto Breckenfeld tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 45th minute of the match Kryspin Banach shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabrício Falcão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Beto Breckenfeld might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over August Hoffmanns. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Beto Breckenfeld ran back to his position shaking his head. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Beto Breckenfeld to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Martin Minchev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Fabrício Falcão threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anestis Kotsopoulos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Rot-Weiss-Essen booed when Jurupeba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fadil Çarçani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anestis Kotsopoulos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Minchev in the 91st minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute Beto Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Minchev in the 96th minute of play. The Rot-Weiss-Essen supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rot-Weiss-Essen would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
