When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Seçkin Öksüzoğlu sped through Newcastle United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mikolaj Jerzyk. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thomas Vollmar to make the kick off. When Julian Obuchowicz fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 67th minute of the match Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC got a corner. Newcastle United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Seçkin Öksüzoğlu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Kurtuluş Senih was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. If Benedicto Bihar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Benedicto Bihar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Mikolaj Jerzyk made a huge save. Pankracy Malicki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 82nd play minutes Benedicto Bihar shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Mikolaj Jerzyk and just under the crossbar into goal. Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC made a substitution. Lorenzo James replaced Seçkin Öksüzoğlu. If Benedicto Bihar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 91 minutes into the game, Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Benedicto Bihar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mikolaj Jerzyk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Julian Obuchowicz made in the 94th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Adam Pacholewski immediately put the ball in play. In the 95th minute, Helge Kozub hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Batıkan Muhsin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Vollmar in the 96th minute of the match. Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC played a much better game than Newcastle United and deserved their victory. The Newcastle United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
