The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Inocencio Veronica showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelino Chaime in the 11th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, Ross Strong cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Victorino Francis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Victorino Francis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo-Sebastian Palacio in the 21st minute of play. Inocencio Veronica showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Mino in the 26th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Santiago Mino in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Inocencio Veronica prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute Marcelino Chaime shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inocencio Veronica saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 42 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Arne Olsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Medina in the 44th minute of play forced Rafaela FC's goalkeeper Inocencio Veronica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Rafaela FC's Basilio Guillerme got a free kick in the 45th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Victorino Francis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Furia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inocencio Veronica made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoldo Medina in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Ikatz in the 58th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Victorino Francis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victorino Francis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo-Sebastian Palacio in the 65th minute of play. Inocencio Veronica showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Medina, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After taking down the ball on Palermo's corner Santiago Mino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Inocencio Veronica quite easily take care of the ball. Basilio Guillerme hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Rafaela FC's attentive Nico Veit managed to snatch the ball when William Bengtsson made a throw-in in the 80th minute of the game. Victorino Francis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Esteban Ikatz went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 87 minutes into the match, Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Octavio Gonzo came free, but Victorino Francis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Octavio Gonzo kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Rafaela FC's Inocencio Veronica proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Rafaela FC from getting a goal against them. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rafaela FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Palermo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
