In the 7thth minute of the game Oliviero Vuelta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Westbam's Oscar Gomesano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Westbam's zone, Pedro Toledo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Gomesano came out of the goal and Pedro Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oscar Gomesano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oliviero Vuelta in the 13th minute. Oscar Gomesano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Gentili, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute, Dario Gentili made a precise shot to the right of Oscar Gomesano. Westbam's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Pedro Toledo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Oscar Gomesano. That made the score 4-0 in the 27 minute of play. If Oliviero Vuelta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Gomesano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot by Valério Mazza from long distance, 34 minutes into the match, got Oscar Gomesano's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The supporters of Westbam booed when Marzagão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oliviero Vuelta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Oscar Gomesano made a huge save. 40 minutes into the game, Marzagão's Oliviero Vuelta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oscar Gomesano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Marzagão's Oliviero Vuelta was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 43rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Oscar Gomesano made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Pedro Toledo sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-0 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute Oliviero Vuelta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Gomesano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oscar Gomesano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliviero Vuelta, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Oscar Gomesano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oliviero Vuelta's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Oscar Gomesano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliviero Vuelta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Toledo in the 79th minute of play forced Westbam's goalkeeper Oscar Gomesano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Westbam's goal looked a bit too open when Murillo do Valle came free, but Oscar Gomesano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oscar Gomesano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murillo do Valle in the 87th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Oliviero Vuelta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oscar Gomesano was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. In the 92nd minute, Murillo do Valle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oscar Gomesano was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. If Pedro Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Marzagão were the better team. Marzagão's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
