The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelino Chaime got free with Olav Suur in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Palermo's Santiago Mino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Olav Suur. That made the score 2-0 after 10 minutes of play. In the 14th minute Punua were awarded a corner. Igor Leobardo went to the cornerflag to take it. Alfredo Joey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remigio Giro in the 15th minute of the match. In the 18th minute Prudencio Bras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Joey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute of the match Punua got a corner. Palermo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Igor Leobardo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alfredo Joey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remigio Giro in the 22nd minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Arnoldo Medina notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Punua's Olav Suur. Olav Suur was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 28th minute, Palermo's Marcelino Chaime ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Olav Suur. Olav Suur yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. 34 minutes into the match, Santiago Mino notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Punua's Olav Suur. Olav Suur was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alfredo Joey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remigio Giro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Punua's Prudencio Bras got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 44th minute, Remigio Giro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Maximino Gonzalez came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Palermo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximino Gonzalez couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Santiago Mino made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Palermo's Santiago Mino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olav Suur made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Alfredo Joey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remigio Giro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnoldo Medina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Olav Suur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Palermo's Alfredo Joey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Gotzon in the 61st minute of play. After 63 minutes Palermo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Igor Leobardo who took care of the corner kick. Olav Suur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santiago Mino, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Mino in the 85th minute of play forced Punua's goalkeeper Olav Suur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Punua's Olav Suur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Mino in the 86th minute of play. Palermo made a substitution. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Palermo had won after a very even match.
