Mayo's Marcus Deacon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Östen Stor in the 5th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Claudio-Paul Caniggia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcus Deacon was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Deportivo Pucho were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Mayo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Archie Litchfield took the corner. Evelio Goren shot from long distance after 15 played minutes, a shot that Józef Mlynarczyk with certain difficulty stopped from going in under the crossbar. 15 minutes into the game Evelio Goren kicked a great long shot which passed Józef Mlynarczyk straight ahead into the goal, Result 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Mayo's Patrick Robins slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Józef Mlynarczyk. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. Józef Mlynarczyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Des Gill, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Deportivo Pucho's Józef Mlynarczyk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Pucho from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Mayo's William Symons got a free kick in the 27th minute. If Östen Stor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Deportivo Pucho booed when Mayo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evelio Goren didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Patrick Robins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrick Robins in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Józef Mlynarczyk, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The throw-in from Paulo Milio in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Mayo's William Symons. Evelio Goren made in the 42nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Patrick Robins. Józef Mlynarczyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Will Porter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Delmar Jerico kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Mayo's Evelio Goren tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Józef Mlynarczyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glyn Smith in the 62nd minute of the match. Mayo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Evelio Goren in the 63rd minute. Evelio Goren made a great header on Mayo's corner, it was just that Deportivo Pucho's Józef Mlynarczyk managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, Mayo's Amílton Siqueira got a free kick in the 67th minute. Mayo's Johnnie Osbourn was substituted for Evelio Goren. Mayo's Alex Burton was substituted for Des Gill. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Nasir Nesefi in the 71st minute of play forced Mayo's goalkeeper Marcus Deacon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mayo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Will Porter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th minute Samuel Farmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Józef Mlynarczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus Deacon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnulfo Marko in the 77th minute of play. Alex Burton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Józef Mlynarczyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcus Deacon made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Timoteo Eneko sent off a good shot on target. Marcus Deacon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julio Tolino, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute.
