Lars Norberg made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Bennvar Post sent off a good shot on target. If Witomir Ziomkowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bennvar Post in the 24th minute of play forced spikarna's goalkeeper Lars Norberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by spikarna's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fredric Melander was slow to take the kick. During this time National Team Cape-Verde's players had a chance to rest. 31 minutes into the match, National Team Cape-Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Atakan Pepe came free, but Pål Sefastsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bennvar Posts short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Lars Norberg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bennvar Post received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Lars Norberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fredric Melander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Lars Norberg made a huge save. Pål Sefastsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaj Hård, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, spikarna's goal looked a bit too open when Bennvar Post came free, but Lars Norberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Atakan Pepe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Bennvar Post made the kick off in the second half. National Team Cape-Verde's Carlos Alberto Tevez was substituted for Bennvar Post. Rickard Alefors made in the 59th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Atakan Pepe. In the 62nd minute Kaj Hård shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Sefastsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaj Hård got free with Pål Sefastsson in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
