The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik Cantona got free with Viktor Pettersson in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Skövde AIK's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Erik Cantona 4 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 7th minute, Knut Rudberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Saga TF's Erik Cantona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Viktor Pettersson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Erik Cantona took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Viktor Pettersson to make any attempt to save it. Joachim Forseth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Keegan, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Erik Cantona could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Viktor Pettersson made a huge save. Viktor Pettersson didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 16th minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. With a little luck, Skövde AIK's Viktor Pettersson got control of the ball when Erik Cantona tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joachim Forseth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Hamrin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joachim Forseth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Hamrin in the 35th minute of play. Viktor Pettersson was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Erik Cantona capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Erik Cantona really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. Skövde AIK's Viktor Pettersson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Skövde AIK from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Erik Cantona made the kick off in the second half. Erik Cantona scored 5-0 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Viktor Pettersson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Saga TF's Joachim Forseth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Saga TF from getting a goal against them. In the 58th minute, Kurt Hamrin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joachim Forseth was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Erik Cantona scored 6-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Viktor Pettersson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Cantona in the 67th minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Viktor Pettersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Skövde AIK defense, Erik Cantona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Viktor Pettersson. The Skövde AIK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Viktor Pettersson should have stopped the shot. Erik Cantona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Viktor Pettersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erik Cantona scored 8-1 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Viktor Pettersson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 76th minute Jerry Williams shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Forseth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Saga TF's Erik Cantona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Viktor Pettersson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-1. Erik Cantona took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Viktor Pettersson. Viktor Pettersson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-1. Erik Cantona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Viktor Pettersson having to make a save. Viktor Pettersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Cantona in the 87th minute of the match. Saga TF's Joachim Forseth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerry Williams in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Hamrin in the 91st minute of play forced Saga TF's goalkeeper Joachim Forseth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Erik Cantona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viktor Pettersson. Skövde AIK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erik Cantona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Saga TF fans cheered their team off the field, for while Skövde AIK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
