The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aaron Glanselius made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Erik Cantona sent off a good shot on target. In the 8th minute, Erik Cantona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SSC Ambrosini's attentive Marcus Kilman managed to snatch the ball when Iwo Gendolla made a throw-in in the 10th minute of the game. Aaron Glanselius stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erik Cantona's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by SSC Ambrosini's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Brian Laudrup was slow to take the kick. During this time Saga TF's players had a chance to rest. Joachim Forseth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrik Möllgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 29th minute Juhan Kersna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Forseth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, SSC Ambrosini's Marcus Kilman got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christer Lundin in the 34th minute of play forced Saga TF's goalkeeper Joachim Forseth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Saga TF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jan Malm was slow to take the kick. During this time SSC Ambrosini's players had a chance to rest. SSC Ambrosini's Jan Malm was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joachim Forseth in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 38th minute Erik Cantona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Glanselius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Saga TF's Ola Nordhagen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aaron Glanselius narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aaron Glanselius was a little too slow when Erik Cantona got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Henrik Möllgren to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Erik Cantona notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of SSC Ambrosini's Aaron Glanselius. Aaron Glanselius was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. SSC Ambrosini made a substitution. Gösta Berggren replaced 高城竞. Joachim Forseth made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Christer Lundin sent off a good shot on target. SSC Ambrosini's Aaron Glanselius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ola Nordhagen in the 68th minute of play. After 69 minutes SSC Ambrosini's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Brian Laudrup who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Brian Laudrup got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Aaron Glanselius quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 78 minutes of play, Saga TF's Arne Botnen made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aaron Glanselius was left in no man's land by his defense there! SSC Ambrosini's Magnus Fribäck was substituted for Christer Lundin. SSC Ambrosini's Åke Bjursell was substituted for Marcus Kilman. Henrik Möllgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joachim Forseth having to interfere. If Henrik Möllgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joachim Forseth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrik Möllgren in the 86th minute of play. A collision led to SSC Ambrosini getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Åke Bjursell hit a great ball. SSC Ambrosini's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
