In the 4th minute of the match Marzagão got a corner. SSC Ambrosini's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cristian Dias ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to SSC Ambrosini getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Torsten Soned hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Valdemar Åberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Luís Fernandez. Marzagão's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valdemar Åberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Björn Ekegren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabiano de Queiroz in the 14th minute. After 15 minutes SSC Ambrosini's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cristian Dias who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Marzagão's Alberto Prado getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After 24 played minutes Marzagão got a freekick which was hit by Cleiton Paulista. Pedro Luís Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar Åberg in the 26th minute of play. In the 30th minute Valdemar Åberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luís Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Caco Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marzagão's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Fernandez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hans Bergqvist took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Luís Fernandez. Pedro Luís Fernandez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 40th match minute, Marzagão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Dias to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 40 minutes, Alf Kullgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SSC Ambrosini's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alf Kullgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Valdemar Åberg notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Marzagão's Pedro Luís Fernandez. Pedro Luís Fernandez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Marzagão's Gilberto Saraiva was substituted for Fabiano de Queiroz. Marzagão's Remo Borges was substituted for Válbson Fernandes. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Neil Mar was the one to do the kick off. Marzagão's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristian Dias in the 54th minute. A nice corner shot did that Cristian Dias got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Björn Ekegren quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Pedro Luís Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Forssell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfredo Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredo Esteves took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Björn Ekegren. Björn Ekegren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Marzagão's Alberto Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, César Rosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SSC Ambrosini's Valdemar Åberg got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Caco Donato was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 86 minutes into the match. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Marzagão! An unexpectedly hard shot by Olof Ersman in the 93rd minute of play forced Marzagão's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olof Ersman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Luís Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Forssell in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SSC Ambrosini had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
