With a little luck, Macedonia's Spase Kastrati got control of the ball when Larry Hallam tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nicky Attenborough hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Deljan Nastevski might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Caleb Barrett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deljan Nastevski in the 17th minute of play forced Andorra's goalkeeper Caleb Barrett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andorra's Caleb Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deljan Nastevski in the 22nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Larry Hallam got free with Spase Kastrati in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sidney Attenborough hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Caleb Barrett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilijano Kitanovski in the 35th minute of the match. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Andorra's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Emilijano Kitanovski was slow to take the kick. During this time Macedonia's players had a chance to rest.

The wind increased when Larry Hallam made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Deljan Nastevski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 53 played minutes Macedonia got a freekick which was hit by Gorjan Avramovski. Spase Kastrati showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Larry Hallam in the 58th minute of the match. Andorra's Guillem Agulló was substituted for Larry Hallam. After 63 played minutes Andorra got a freekick which was hit by Kristopher Eyre. Spase Kastrati took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guillem Agulló, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 72 minutes into the match, Guillem Agulló had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Spase Kastrati. Macedonia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guillem Agulló was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 75th minute Guillem Agulló shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Spase Kastrati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Martinez in the 79th minute of play forced Macedonia's goalkeeper Spase Kastrati to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iljo Trajanov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caleb Barrett having to interfere. Spase Kastrati showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Roebuck, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 87th minute of the match Macedonia got a corner. Andorra's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emilijano Kitanovski ran over to the corner to take the kick. Deljan Nastevski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Caleb Barrett made a huge save. Caleb Barrett came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Macedonia's Iljo Trajanov. But to his dismay, Iljo Trajanov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2.
