But to his dismay, Geovanni Maia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. With a little luck, GRÊMIO's Carlos Miguel got control of the ball when 赵政凡 tried to sneak it across the goal line. 苍穹拓荒者队's 毛迅明 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Pirani in the 25th minute of play. The referee gave GRÊMIO a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Roger Machado, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of 苍穹拓荒者队's 毛迅明. 0-3. 苍穹拓荒者队's 毛迅明 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Fontes in the 38th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when 赵政凡 got free with Carlos Miguel in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Maia in the 40th minute of play forced 苍穹拓荒者队's goalkeeper 毛迅明 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elpidio Gai in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg 毛迅明 saved 苍穹拓荒者队 from getting behind. 毛迅明 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maicon Capitão in the 44th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Roberto Fontes notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of 苍穹拓荒者队's 毛迅明. 毛迅明 was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 赵政凡 to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, 苍穹拓荒者队's goalkeeper 毛迅明 had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arí Terra. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Maia in the 73rd minute of play forced 苍穹拓荒者队's goalkeeper 毛迅明 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 倪天谦 kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 毛迅明 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Fontes in the 84th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Dráuzio Alagoano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of 毛迅明. 苍穹拓荒者队's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dráuzio Alagoano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. In the 89th match minute, GRÊMIO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino da Costa to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute Elpidio Gai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 毛迅明 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over GRÊMIO could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than 苍穹拓荒者队 throughout the match.
