Racing Comunicaciones's Laureano Belasko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julien Staffelbach in the 24th minute of play. Julien Staffelbach might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Laureano Belasko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julien Staffelbach ran back to his position shaking his head. Laureano Belasko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julien Staffelbach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Racing Comunicaciones's Laureano Belasko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julien Staffelbach in the 33rd minute of play. Radomil Hodyl made in the 34th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Linköpings AIK's Tavo Tomat. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximiliano Celio got free with Jimmy Olsson in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Racing Comunicaciones's Maximiliano Celio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jimmy Olsson. That made the score 1-3 after 36 minutes of play. In the 38th minute, Godfredo Emmanuel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th minute Julien Staffelbach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laureano Belasko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Linköpings AIK booed when Racing Comunicaciones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Janpier didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 47 minutes of play, Linköpings AIK's Julien Staffelbach made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Laureano Belasko was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Linköpings AIK were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some careless play in the Racing Comunicaciones defense, Julien Staffelbach kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laureano Belasko. The Racing Comunicaciones fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laureano Belasko should have stopped the shot. Laureano Belasko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julien Staffelbach in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute, Julien Staffelbach made a precise shot to the right of Laureano Belasko. Racing Comunicaciones's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. Racing Comunicaciones's Radomil Hodyl got his second yellow card of the match in the 85th minute. The referee ordered Radomil Hodyl off the ground. A collision led to Racing Comunicaciones getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Radomil Hodyl hit a great ball. Tavo Tomat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Belasko having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Linköpings AIK's Arvid Carlsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Laureano Belasko narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arvid Carlsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Laureano Belasko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arvid Carlsson ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Racing Comunicaciones's Laureano Belasko got control of the ball when Arvid Carlsson tried to sneak it across the goal line.
