He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Argentina's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Northern Ireland's goalkeeper Ray Folwill, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Benedicto Naelio notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Northern Ireland's Ray Folwill. Ray Folwill was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ray Folwill came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Argentina's Benedicto Naelio. But to his dismay, Benedicto Naelio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 26th minute, Benedicto Naelio made a precise shot to the right of Ray Folwill. Northern Ireland's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 33rd minute Bryan Hodgson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lev Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benedicto Naelio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ray Folwill read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. In the 40th minute Vicente Nevada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Folwill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ray Folwill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Eufrasio, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. But to his dismay, Roman Gregory quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryan Hodgson in the 85th minute of play forced Argentina's goalkeeper Lev Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ray Folwill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roman Gregory, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
