Hugo Orlando Gatti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaudencio Aguirre in the 38th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vicente Santana got free with Farid Mondragon in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Hack Hounds getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Santo Frantzes hit a great ball. Hack Hounds were furious when Gustavo-Hernán Sidoro was red carded, 41 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hack Hounds fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Consejo del Mate a penalty, 42 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aquiles Cordero, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hack Hounds's Farid Mondragon. 2-0. In the 45th minute, Consejo del Mate's Bolo Bolaño dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bolo Bolaño in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Farid Mondragon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 68 minutes into the match, Consejo del Mate's goal looked a bit too open when Garry Torpey came free, but Hugo Orlando Gatti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peyo Fonelleda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Farid Mondragon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Farid Mondragon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peyo Fonelleda in the 73rd minute of play. Consejo del Mate were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Hack Hounds's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aquiles Cordero took the corner.
