An unexpectedly hard shot by João Vítor Sena in the 10th minute of play forced Galo na Veia FC™'s goalkeeper Elói Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 played minutes Palmares Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Botelho. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kiko Martins in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonardo Paz saved Palmares Futebol Clube from getting behind. Elói Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Galo na Veia FC™'s goal looked a bit too open when João Vítor Sena came free, but Elói Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Túlio Maravilha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ismael Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elói Medeiros having to interfere. A collision led to Palmares Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. João Vítor Sena hit a great ball. A collision led to Galo na Veia FC™ getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Rafa Domingues hit a great ball. Leonardo Paz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kiko Martins in the 37th minute. With a little luck, Palmares Futebol Clube's Leonardo Paz got control of the ball when Nelson Valladares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Elói Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Secco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elói Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Túlio Maravilha in the 44th minute of the match. A collision led to Galo na Veia FC™ getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Nelson Valladares hit a great ball. João Carlos Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kiko Martins made a kick off. When João Ferreira fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmares Futebol Clube's protests and gave João Ferreira a yellow card for diving instead. After 52 played minutes Palmares Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by João Ferreira. Leonardo Paz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kiko Martins in the 55th minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Nelson Valladares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Túlio Maravilhas short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Elói Medeiros to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Leonardo Paz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doni do Valle in the 60th minute of play. Kiko Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Leonardo Paz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute João Vítor Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elói Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Palmares Futebol Clube's João Ferreira got his second yellow card of the match in the 70th minute. The referee ordered João Ferreira off the ground. Palmares Futebol Clube made a substitution. Thomás Maia replaced Luisinho Nogueira. In the 72nd match minute, Palmares Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. Kiko Martins might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonardo Paz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kiko Martins ran back to his position shaking his head. When Thomás Maia fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmares Futebol Clube's protests and gave Thomás Maia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 88th match minute, Palmares Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomás Maia to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmares Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Leonardo Paz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Galo na Veia FC™'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alberto Negri in the 91st minute. A nice corner shot did that Alberto Negri got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leonardo Paz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 94 minutes into the match, João Vítor Sena notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Galo na Veia FC™'s Elói Medeiros. Elói Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The Palmares Futebol Clube supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Palmares Futebol Clube would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
