Ferdinand Vasiliu's late challenge caught a Salmuera CP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ferdinand Vasiliu helped the player get up and apologised. Ruperto Maria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurel Pandrea in the 14th minute of play. Eusebiu Sima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costin Duca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the match, Steaua Bucuresti's Ionuț Drumeș sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ruperto Maria narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
