The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Dick Vedholm made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Nistor Sârban sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nistor Sârban in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dick Vedholm saved Black Diamond from getting behind. Nistor Sârban had several of the Black Diamond's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 17 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Dick Vedholm as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a defensive mix-up in Black Diamond's zone, Nistor Sârban stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dick Vedholm came out of the goal and Nistor Sârban tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Rega Merida CF defense, Akın Turhan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Konstanty Wawro. The Rega Merida CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Konstanty Wawro should have stopped the shot. 31 minutes into the match, Rega Merida CF's Nistor Sârban sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dick Vedholm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Nistor Sârban kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dick Vedholm. That made the score 3-1 in the 33 minute of play. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Black Diamond's goalkeeper Dick Vedholm, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rega Merida CF were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Black Diamond's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Elpidio Umbruso took the corner. After taking down the ball on Rega Merida CF's corner Constantin Arnăuțescu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dick Vedholm quite easily take care of the ball. Dick Vedholm made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Constantin Arnăuțescu sent off a good shot on target. Dick Vedholm didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 38th minute, which inside left pole to 4-1. After 42 played minutes Black Diamond got a freekick which was hit by Evelio Harriet. After 43 minutes of play, Rega Merida CF's Nistor Sârban made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dick Vedholm was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 47th match minute, Rega Merida CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ersen Durmus to maneuver through the defense. Stelian Hortopan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nistor Sârban to strike the kick off in the second half. When Evelio Harriet fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Black Diamond's protests and gave Evelio Harriet a yellow card for diving instead. Dick Vedholm came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Rega Merida CF's Nistor Sârban. But to his dismay, Nistor Sârban quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. After a defensive mix-up in Black Diamond's zone, Nistor Sârban stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dick Vedholm came out of the goal and Nistor Sârban tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 59 minutes into the match, Rega Merida CF's goal looked a bit too open when Akın Turhan came free, but Konstanty Wawro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Konstanty Wawro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hurko Longo in the 63rd minute of the match. After 64 minutes of play, Rega Merida CF's Nistor Sârban made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dick Vedholm was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 70th minute, Nistor Sârban made a precise shot to the right of Dick Vedholm. Black Diamond's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-1. Rega Merida CF's Karol Swiderski was substituted for Cemal Palabıyık. Konstanty Wawro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stelian Hortopan in the 74th minute of the match. Black Diamond's Mircea Stroia was substituted for Niculae Dima. Rega Merida CF's Konstanty Wawro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Rega Merida CF from getting a goal against them. Evelio Harriet kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. When Konrad Knopek came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Rega Merida CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Konrad Knopek couldn't finish the play. Black Diamond's Akın Turhan got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Rega Merida CF were victorious despite being under pressure from Black Diamond for much of the match.
