The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, ★★★ Lightning Dragons★★★'s goal looked a bit too open when Garth Brough came free, but Aurelio Giammaria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Keylor Navas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from C.J. 吕布 in the 11th minute of play. De-Falco Champion made in the 13th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which C.J. 吕布 however managed to control. Australian Youth Academy were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after ★★★ Lightning Dragons★★★'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cesar Cornelius took the corner. Australian Youth Academy's Keylor Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benny Koks in the 21st minute of play. Aurelio Giammaria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garth Brough in the 29th minute of the match. After 30 played minutes Australian Youth Academy got a freekick which was hit by Brown Haslett. 35 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aurelio Giammaria narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rufus Roach hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Garth Brough ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aurelio Giammaria was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 47th minute Garth Brough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Giammaria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 48th minute, De-Falco Champion hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benny Koks stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. C.J. 吕布 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Keylor Navas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Keylor Navas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benny Koks, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Keylor Navas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from C.J. 吕布, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Austmann Lucas kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Austmann Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. C.J. 吕布 blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Keylor Navas having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by C.J. 吕布 in the 65th minute of play forced Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Keylor Navas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garth Brough in the 66th minute of play forced ★★★ Lightning Dragons★★★'s goalkeeper Aurelio Giammaria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Australian Youth Academy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cesar Cornelius in the 68th minute. Australian Youth Academy's attentive Cesar Cornelius managed to snatch the ball when Slawomir Banach made a throw-in in the 70th minute of the game. In the 75th minute C.J. 吕布 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Navas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aldo Sciascia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Keylor Navas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benny Koks, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. ★★★ Lightning Dragons★★★'s attentive Lin Xuan Hai managed to snatch the ball when Cesar Cornelius made a throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 86th minute C.J. 吕布 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Navas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Keylor Navas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benny Koks's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. In the 91st minute, Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aurelio Giammaria. Aurelio Giammaria yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. ★★★ Lightning Dragons★★★ made a substitution. Kryspin Galagan replaced C.J. 吕布. In the 95th match minute, Australian Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garth Brough to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garth Brough in the 97th minute of play forced ★★★ Lightning Dragons★★★'s goalkeeper Aurelio Giammaria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97th minute, Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3.

When the final whistle sounded Australian Youth Academy left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than ★★★ Lightning Dragons★★★.
