ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Erkan Fişek managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Piers Amos in the 8 minute of the game. After 11th play minutes Estevão Reis shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Eduardo Pereyra and just under the crossbar into goal. Estevão Reis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eduardo Pereyra having to make a save. In the 14th minute Estevão Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Pereyra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16thth minute of the game Toro Díaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Egun Zapico was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 19thth minute of the game Estevão Reis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New York Red Bulls's Eduardo Pereyra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Egun Zapico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Rijkaard in the 22nd minute of play. When Basarab Panduru fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New York Red Bulls's protests and gave Basarab Panduru a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to New York Red Bulls getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Basarab Panduru hit a great ball. ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Egun Zapico proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ from getting a goal against them. 30 minutes into the match, ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Rijkaard came free, but Egun Zapico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Estevão Reis in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eduardo Pereyra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 36th minute of the match ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ got a corner. New York Red Bulls's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Erkan Fişek ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Boğaç Çelikoz to fire away a dangerous shot which Eduardo Pereyra despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Egun Zapico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Rijkaard in the 39th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Egun Zapico successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Doru Coman got free with Egun Zapico in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Şeray İhtiyar hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Eduardo Pereyra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şeray İhtiyar in the 47th minute of play.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Estevão Reis in the 52nd minute of play forced New York Red Bulls's goalkeeper Eduardo Pereyra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Estevão Reis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 55 minutes into the game, ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Estevão Reis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eduardo Pereyra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Estevão Reis might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eduardo Pereyra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Estevão Reis ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 61st minute Estevão Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Pereyra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute Frank Rijkaard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Zapico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Pereyra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estevão Reis in the 64th minute of play. Estevão Reis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Eduardo Pereyra made a huge save. ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ's Burak Orkan was substituted for Şeray İhtiyar. Dong Hong Jian made in the 71st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Berkan Temel however managed to control.
