Acácio Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnout Labrouche in the 7th minute of the match. Arnout Labrouche charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arnout Labrouche the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ⲙσсσсɑ Βᴜꓲꓲร booed when Club Brugge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnout Labrouche didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nickolas Gielens in the 13th minute of play forced Ⲙσсσсɑ Βᴜꓲꓲร's goalkeeper Acácio Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Club Brugge booed when Ⲙσсσсɑ Βᴜꓲꓲร was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betinho Falcão didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Betinho Falcão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ⲙσсσсɑ Βᴜꓲꓲร's supporters rose to their feet, but Betinho Falcão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jason Manaers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Betinho Falcão in the 21st minute of play forced Club Brugge's goalkeeper Jason Manaers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Constantijn Philippaerts hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Club Brugge's Nickolas Gielens got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After 25 minutes of play, Club Brugge's Arnout Labrouche made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jason Manaers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Acácio Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnout Labrouche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Betinho Falcão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jason Manaers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Caio Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 48th minute of the match Ⲙσсσсɑ Βᴜꓲꓲร got a corner. Club Brugge's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Uriel Porfirio ran over to the corner to take the kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rony Pena to make the kick off. In the 61st minute, Ⲙσсσсɑ Βᴜꓲꓲร's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nickolas Gielens fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A collision led to Club Brugge getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Harrie Dillemans hit a great ball. In the 74th minute, Constantijn Philippaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 75 played minutes Ⲙσсσсɑ Βᴜꓲꓲร got a freekick which was hit by Betinho Falcão. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Nickolas Gielens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Brugge's supporters rose to their feet, but Nickolas Gielens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Acácio Gaspar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 79 minutes into the match, Club Brugge's goal looked a bit too open when Betinho Falcão came free, but Jason Manaers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hélio Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rony Pena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Hélio Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Neither team could find the winning goal during normal time. The second half finished 1-1. Extra-time would have to be played.

With new strength the players walked out on the field for the first half of overtime. Nickolas Gielens in Club Brugge was the one to initiate the kick off. Rony Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 104th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jason Manaers having to interfere. Hélio Quadros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jason Manaers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 109th minute of play. Acácio Gaspar came out of the goal in the 110th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Brugge's Nickolas Gielens. But to his dismay, Nickolas Gielens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Chants of Club Brugge echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ⲙσсσсɑ Βᴜꓲꓲร had held the ball for most of the match.
