Anko Gebrev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paco Cabedo in the 4th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 8 minutes into the game, when Cerilo Gamboa put in a rough tackle. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CRUZ DEL SUR! Juan Pedro Owen had in the 9thth minute some difficulties stopping Chudomir Múdrov's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 10 minutes of play, Maritza's Marin Nikolkov made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juan Pedro Owen was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute, Francisco Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jude Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anko Gebrev having to interfere. Francisco Cruz hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Juan Pedro Owen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kuncho Alichkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as CRUZ DEL SUR's Juan María Maeztu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Anko Gebrev. That made the score 1-1 after 30 minutes of play. Juan Pedro Owen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chudomir Múdrov, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 38 played minutes Maritza got a freekick which was hit by Veliko Lanzhev. Anko Gebrev was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Juan María Maeztu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Juan María Maeztu really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. When Veliko Lanzhev fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maritza's protests and gave Veliko Lanzhev a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Maritza got a freekick which was hit by Veliko Lanzhev. Jude Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Anko Gebrev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jude Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chudomir Múdrov made a kick off. Juan Pedro Owen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kuncho Alichkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CRUZ DEL SUR's Juan Pedro Owen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save CRUZ DEL SUR from getting a goal against them. After 56 minutes, Chudomir Múdrov made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. CRUZ DEL SUR's Juan Pedro Owen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 59th minute Chudomir Múdrov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Pedro Owen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan María Maeztu took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anko Gebrev. Anko Gebrev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. CRUZ DEL SUR made a substitution. Maurín Angulo replaced Jude Cruz. In the 72nd match minute, CRUZ DEL SUR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Manuel Guilisasti to maneuver through the defense. Maritza's Anko Gebrev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan María Maeztu in the 74th minute of play. 76 minutes into the game, Juan María Maeztu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Anko Gebrev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 79th minute, Kuncho Alichkov reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Juan Pedro Owen. The goal made the score 4-3. Juan María Maeztu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anko Gebrev having to make a save. Anko Gebrev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan María Maeztu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anko Gebrev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan María Maeztu in the 88th minute of the match. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maritza's goalkeeper Anko Gebrev, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Juan Pedro Owen made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Marin Nikolkov sent off a good shot on target.

The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The CRUZ DEL SUR fans cheered their team off the field, for while Maritza had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
