The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandru Săvulescu got free with Edinho Pirani in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 38 minutes into the match, Luiz Fabiano Orange had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bogdan Lobonț. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Fabiano Orange was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perivaldo Penha in the 41st minute of play forced F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goalkeeper Bogdan Lobonț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Perivaldo Penha in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bogdan Lobonț prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Edinho Pirani, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After 51 played minutes F.C CLUJ MEDICINA got a freekick which was hit by Narcis Agachi. Bogdan Lobonț acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 51st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Aldair Orange. In the 53rd match minute, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Falcão Orange to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ booed when F.C CLUJ MEDICINA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandru Săvulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Bogdan Lobonț threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aldair Orange, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandru Săvulescu in the 82nd minute of play forced Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Edinho Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Bogdan Lobonț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldair Orange in the 88th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goalkeeper Bogdan Lobonț had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Fabiano Orange. 92 minutes into the game, one of F.C CLUJ MEDICINA:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 94th minute there was a penalty for Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ. Osmar Vander stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bogdan Lobonț. 0-3. A hard shot 97 in the game by Aldair Orange from a close distance when the talented Bogdan Lobonț managed to make a qualified save. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's players were relieved.

The Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
