Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Leno FC's Peter Söderström started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Paço Futebol Clube defense, Kjell-Arne Barck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sydney Mendonça. The Paço Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sydney Mendonça should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Peter Söderström kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sydney Mendonça. That made the score 2-0 in the 10 minute of play. Leno FC's Kjell-Arne Barck got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Söderström in the 18th minute of play forced Paço Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Sydney Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvério Taveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anders Adelsköld stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermano lago's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Paço Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Sydney Mendonça had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kjell-Arne Barck. When Peter Söderström came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Leno FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Söderström couldn't finish the play. If Hermano lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 34 minutes into the match, Paço Futebol Clube's Hermano lago sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anders Adelsköld narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 37th minute Peter Söderström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sydney Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvério Taveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anders Adelsköld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudemiro Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After having played for 52 minutes, Hermano lago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paço Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermano lago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kjell-Arne Barck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Sydney Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sydney Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kjell-Arne Barck's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Hermano lago's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anders Adelsköld read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Anders Adelsköld showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvério Taveira in the 63rd minute of the match. Peter Söderström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Mendonça having to interfere. Sydney Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Söderström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
