Defensa y justicia's Anier Paez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Asteri Gene in the 6th minute of play. Giorgio Camacho took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anier Paez. Anier Paez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 15 minutes of play, Grumos Blancos's Giorgio Camacho made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anier Paez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Giorgio Camacho kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Gaizka Montaña was a little too slow when Fabio Fernandes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-2. Basilio Ermano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Gaizka Montaña when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Basilio Ermano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Giorgio Camacho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anier Paez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Anier Paez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giorgio Camacho in the 37th minute of play. Giorgio Camacho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Anier Paez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Grumos Blancos's Gaizka Montaña got control of the ball when Basilio Ermano tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Grumos Blancos were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Anier Paez came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Grumos Blancos's Giorgio Camacho. But to his dismay, Giorgio Camacho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Gaizka Montaña showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Antero Velasco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Anier Paez made a huge save. In the 62nd minute Robustiano Pierres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaizka Montaña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Grumos Blancos booed when Defensa y justicia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robustiano Pierres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giorgio Camacho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 79 minutes, Anier Paez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 83 minutes into the match, Grumos Blancos's goal looked a bit too open when Basilio Ermano came free, but Gaizka Montaña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basilio Ermano scored 3-4 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gaizka Montaña, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Giorgio Camacho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabio Fernandes in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gaizka Montaña prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Defensa y justicia fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Defensa y justicia's Fabio Fernandes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 94th minute, Giorgio Camacho made a precise shot to the right of Anier Paez. Defensa y justicia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-5. The Grumos Blancos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Grumos Blancos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
