Arnold Szuper showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaanus Uustalo, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute Rauno Koba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnold Szuper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pál Polyák could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Helmut Tõnuri made a huge save. With an all-out effort, Hungary's Helmut Tõnuri threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tivadar Demeter, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaanus Uustalo in the 68th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Arnold Szuper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
