The referee ignored Tynemouth Wanderers's protests and gave Derek Commons a yellow card for diving instead. He was immediately shown a red card. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Téo Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quebra Ossos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Téo Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alf Dove breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gugu Saldanha in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alf Dove prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Betão Marinho got free with Alf Dove in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tynemouth Wanderers's goalkeeper Alf Dove, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Blair Knight hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match.
