In the 18thth minute of the game Steinar Flo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Moldova's Cãlin Damaschin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Emil Berntzen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cãlin Damaschin was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Cãlin Damaschin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Berntzen in the 22nd minute of play. Nils Støle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandu Vasiliu in the 24th minute of play. Sigurd Storhaug charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sigurd Storhaug the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandu Vasiliu in the 46th minute of play forced Norway's goalkeeper Nils Støle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emil Berntzen to make the kick off. In the 83rd minute, Emil Berntzen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cãlin Damaschin. The goal made the score 0-2. Norway's Nils Støle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandu Vasiliu in the 90th minute of play. Emil Berntzen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cãlin Damaschin came out and tried to block the shot, but Emil Berntzen slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 92nd minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Norway had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
